He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jesse Freeman Motes and Willie Jean Motes; his sons, Jonas Myron Motes Jr. (Elaine Motes) and Eric John Motes (Christy Motes); his grandson David Layne Motes; and his siblings, Timothy I. Motes (Karina Vitale) and Leigh Ann Rachow (Jeffrey E. Rachow). He was also cherished by extended family members and friends.
