He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonise Marguerite Gautier Holmes and James John Holmes; and his siblings, James J Holmes Jr., Marion Holmes Lightell (Joseph), Dorothy Holmes Catoire (Alvin) and Evelyn Holmes Kives (John).
He is survived by: his wife Alice Katherine Restivo Holmes; his daughter Lorrie Ann Holmes Alfred; his son-in-law Michael; and his grandchildren, Dr. Christopher Michael Alfred and Kimberly Michelle Alfred. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
