He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred "Millie" Finlan and Lawrence "Paddie" Finlan; his former wife Rose Marie Brault; and his siblings, Mike, Bill, Rick, Mary Lou and Lorraine.
He is survived by: his wife Aline M. Finlan; his children, Pat Finlan (Patty), Andrew Finlan (Lynn), Debra Valencia (Jim) and Terri Lewis (Steve); his stepchildren, Sherry Souter, Stephanie Hamilton (Joshua) and John Souter (Olivia); his siblings, Della Vadnais, Carol Godfrey, Kay Bergstrom, Susan Finlan and Roger Finlan; and his grandchildren, Rachel Linggren, Brett Finlan, Travis Finlan, Emily Langer, Shannon McCrory, Christopher McCrory, Greg Henderson, Loni Burks, Barry Nemeth and Bobby Nemeth. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
