He was predeceased by: his wife Maurine Gross Carter; his son Keith Carter; and his parents, Savery Carter and Etta McDonald Carter. He is survived by: his children, Truett B. Carter, Jr., Michael Carter (Judy), Renea Carter (Freddie), Joseph Carter (Debbie), Kirk Carter and Matthew Dean Carter; and his siblings, R. D. Carter, Burrough Carter, Cortez Carter, Eythel Butler and Queenie Faulk. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
