He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney D. Ratcliff, Sr. and Etna Easley Ratcliff; his siblings, Barney Dewey Ratcliff, Jr., Dawes Ratcliff and Jacqueline R. Wall; and his nephew Donald Cowsar.
He is survived by: his daughters, Leslie Ratcliff Gardner and Christie Ratcliff Varnado (Kirby); his grandchildren, John M. Gardner, Jr. and Emily Stricker; his great grandchild Beckham Leyrer; and his siblings, Mildred R. Cowsar and Darryl Ratcliff.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Margaret Catholic Church (30300 Catholic Hall Rd, Hammond, LA 70403). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be make to The Butterfly Wing-Hospice of Baton Rouge, and extend deepest gratitude to the amazing staff for their care and compassion.
