We bid farewell to Willis Bevil Burns of Springhill, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 9, 2025 at the age of 100. Willis touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Estelle Kelly Burns; his wife Ernestine Britt Burns; his siblings, Sybil Parker, Maxine Brooks, Elton Burns and Kendall Burns; his great grandchild Aaron Russell; his stepmother Leatha Burns; his stepbrother Noel Byrd; and his sons-in-law, Bobby Davidson and Ken Blount.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Burns (Sandy) of Springhill, LA, Charlotte Hardy (Wayne) of El Dorado, AR, Beverly Davidson of Shreveport, LA, Gwen Yeates (Jerrell) of Longview, TX and Peggy Blount of Shreveport, LA; his grandchildren, Pam Hardy, Jason Hardy (Rachel), Terri Marshall (David), Cindy Russell (J. T.), Laura DeBeaudry (Tommy), Karen Aldrich (Jonathan), Mandy Nau (Tyler), Wendy Judy (Trey), Carly McKenzie (Jake), Kristin Crew (Cory) and Chris Burns (Christy); his brothers, Thomas B. Burns of Springhill, LA and Kenneth Burns (Linda) of Baton Rouge, LA; and his close friend Nell Sternbergs. He is also survived by twenty-seven great-grandchildren; nineteen great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home - Springhill (304 First Street, Northwest Springhill, LA 71075). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, if preferred, donations may be made to Spring Branch Cemetery Fund at 935 Spring Branch Road, Springhill, LA 71075 or to Spring Branch Baptist Church at 470 Columbia 22, Taylor, AR 71861.
