Idell Gibson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Idell Gibson of Starks, Louisiana, who passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Drake and Juanita Drake; her son Randy Gibson; and her siblings, Norris Drake, Velma Stanley, Norma Says and Betty Jo Matthews.

She is survived by: her husband Carlton Gibson; her daughters, Donna Brooks and Carla Jordan (Keith); her daughter-in-law Deana Gibson; her grandchildren, Drake Gibson (Ana), Tera Cassidy (Kyle), Stephen Gibson (Tasia), Jacob Brooks (Molly), Sarah Mabile (Greg), Daniel Brooks (Rachel), Nickolas Jordan and Skylar Jordan; her great grandchildren, Nate Gibson, Shane Gibson, Sullivan Cassidy, Mya Gibson, Millie Gibson, Miles Gibson, Alia Brooks, Liam Mabile, Ginny Mabile, Catherine Mabile, Owen Mabile and Atlas Mabile; and her brother Quinton Drake (Nancy). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Autism Services of SWLA, an organization near and dear to Idell.
