It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verna Smith Hoosier (Starks, Louisiana), who passed away on January 10, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Claude Hoosier; her daughter Sharon Ann Stanley; and her parents, Napoleon Smith and Caroline Smith. She is survived by : her children, Charlotte Royer (Leon Royer), Rev. Roy Hoosier (Vicky Hoosier), Ethel Farley (Charles Farley) and Claude Hoosier, Jr. (Kaye Hoosier); and her grandchildren, Darla Brantley (Robert Brantley), Renea VanDorn (Kevin VanDorn), Debbie Wiley (Curt Wiley), Deanne Wilson (Royce Wilson), Tim Miller (Rosa Miller), Bethany Davis (Eric Davis), Teresa Insalaca (Chris Insalaca) and Rev. Lindsey Hoosier (Whitney Hoosier). She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
