We announce the death of Emelia Doucet of Sulphur, Louisiana, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 93. Emelia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Wilbert "Buck" Doucet; her parents, Joe Bumgarden and Avilia Breaux Bumgarden; her children-in-law, Sue Ella Doucet and Doyle Simmons; and her great great grandchild Rhett Burkhead.
She is survived by: her children, Katy Doucet, Linda Stevens (Sam), Richard Doucet (Mary), Larry Doucet (Donna), Patricia Simmons, Judy Cox (Malcolm), Wilbert Doucet and Jeremy Doucet (Angie); and her sister Clara Pringle. She is also survived by grandchildren, eighteen; great grandchildren, twenty three; great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur (107 W Napoleon St, Sulphur, LA 70663). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
