She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Sonnier and Sarah Sonnier; her former husband Walter Guidry; her daughter Katherine Murrell; her sons-in-law, Kelvin Murrell and Brett Layne Bares; and her siblings, Mildred Carrier, Frieda Bevers, Leroy Sonnier and Preston Sonnier.
She is survived by: her children, John Charles Guidry (Ann) of Covington, Susie Bares of Carlyss, Barry Dale Guidry of Discovery Bay and Wally Guidry (Jennifer) of Sulphur, Louisiana; her stepchildren, Michael David Cormier and Bonita Stewart; her siblings, Melba Thibodeaux, Sylvia Johnson, Ramona Miller and Kelly Sonnier; her grandchildren, Katrina Miller, Brandi Trahan, Karah Wilson, John Paul Guidry, Kyle Armer, Derek Guidry, Amber Seaford, Ryan Guidry, Brittney Guidry Venour, Tod Guidry, Sarah Guidry and Shelby Rose Guidry; and her spouse Cary Cormier. She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home (2051 E Napoleon St, Sulphur, LA 70663). A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (2700 Maplewood Dr, Sulphur, LA 70663).
