He is survived by : his wife Laura Lee Savoie Horaist of Sunset; his sons, Bryan Horaist (Susan) of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Christopher Horaist (Josette) of Spring, TX and Daniel Horaist (Kim) of Pineville, Louisiana; his siblings, Joseph Horaist (Brenda) of Church Point, Lynn H. Venable of Eunice, Dell H. Jordan of New Orleans and Susan H. Castille (Armand) of Opelousas; his grandsons, Steven Horaist, Samuel Horaist (Michelle), Simon Horaist (Nikita), Matthew Horaist (Lindsey) and Joseph Horaist; his great grandchildren, Hailey, Noah and Dixie; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Horaist of Abbeville and Larry Savoie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (289 Church St, Grand Coteau, LA 70541). A rosary was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 3:15 PM at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (174 Church St, Grand Coteau, LA 70541).
