He is survived by: his wife Karen Bingham Murphy; his children, Jason Murphy (Stephanie), Shannon Murphy, Carl Petty (Corrine), Joyce Lawson (Randal), Brian Matlock (Sharon), Ricky Petty, Cherry Moss (Baron), Tonya Tarver (Carl) and Rodney Petty (Rhonda); his daughter-in-law Jackie Matlock; and his sisters, Pat Eckerman and Nona Kiellough. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren.
