John P. Carpenter Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John P. Carpenter of Terrytown, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 17, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Cheryl Carpenter; and his parents, John I. Carpenter and Josephine A. Carpenter. He is survived by: his children, Jared Carpenter (Melissa Carpenter), Amy Barry (John Barry), Sarah Comeaux (Edward Comeaux) and Samantha Carpenter (Tina Carpenter); the parent of his children Mitzie Leonard; his grandchildren, Rian Carpenter (Summer Carpenter), Hannah Barry, Natalie Barry and Abigail Comeaux; his great grandchild Lucy Anne Carpenter; his brothers, Raymond Carpenter (Joy Carpenter), Andrew Carpenter (Linda Carpenter) and Richard Carpenter (Denise Carpenter); and his nieces and nephews, Dina Roland, Dana Carboni, Dona Witt, Matthew Carpenter, Wendy Carpenter, Beth Bishop and Patrick Carpenter.

In lieu of flowers, John would like everyone to have Masses said in his memory.
