He was predeceased by : his parents, George Bartell and Marguerite Stevens Bartell; his brother Gary Bartell; and his siblings-in-law, Penny Bartell and Jim Gaffney.

He is survived by : his siblings, Linda Gaffney, Susan Prejeant (Richard), Ellen Bartell (Rhonda), Richard "Bart" Bartell (Pam) and Michael Bartell.

“I have known Brian for several years. Recently, I called him to ask to stay at his home the night of a social since I live in New Orleans. After the wedding was over, we sat for hours talking. There were times that I cried laughing at Brian for his quick wittiness! We had a blast and now I will forever treasure that night. You could not help but love Brian.
