He was predeceased by: his parents, Ursin Melancon and Juliette Mire Melancon; his brothers, Carl and Garland; his stepdaughters, Patty Naquin Boudreaux and Wanda Naquin; and his parents-in-law, Elma Thibodaux Sauce and Lawrence Sauce.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Sauce Melancon; his children, Celynn Bourgeois (Todd Larousse), Darrin Melancon (Sharlotte) and Julie Ray (Paul); and his stepchildren, Patricia Gaudet and Elliot Naquin, Jr. (Marie). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Saint Joseph Co-Cathedral (721 Canal Blvd, Thibodaux, LA 70301). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM.
