He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Ellis Braud, Sr. and Alma Maxwell Braud; his brother-in-law Dr. Fred Allen Tenney; and his nieces, Allison "Budda" Walters and Lauri "LaLa" Walters.
He is survived by: his wife Dora Martinez Braud; his children, Stephanie Braud Gautreaux (Lee Gautreaux), Byron Braud (Kimberly Braud) and Benjamin Braud (Cassie Braud); his grandchildren, Andrew Gautreaux (Sarah Gautreaux), Katelyn Landry (Calum Landry), Ellis Braud, Daniel Braud, Maxwell Braud, Lena Braud and Camille Braud; his great grandchildren, Annalise Gautreaux and Parker Landry; Barbara "BeBe" Adatto, Ellen Tenney and Alma "Bonnie" Walters. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Co-Cathedral (721 Canal Blvd, Thibodaux, LA 70301). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family asks the consideration of a donation to the following philanthropies, Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA), American Heart Association, and Edward Douglas White Catholic High School.
