He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Ellis and Eugene Ellis; his children, Keron Thomas and Roxanne Ellis; and his brothers, Raymond, Kenneth and Donald Ellis.

He is survived by: his close friend Lucille Thomas; his children, Bryan Gibbs, Carnetta Saul (Clifton) and Melinda Gibbs; and his siblings, Samuel Ellis, Sr., Leroy Ellis (Joanna), Kevin Ellis, Sr., Gregory Ellis (Daphine), Mary Triggs (Ernest), Beverly Batiste (Robert), Gwendolyn Ellis and Katrina Ellis. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
