He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Hidalgo and Estelle Thibodaux Hidalgo; his siblings, Alcide Hidalgo, Alcee Hidalgo, Paul Hidalgo, Hypolite Hidalgo, Estella Boudreaux, Agatha Martinez, Medora Himel, Levie Hidalgo, Marie Hidalgo, Urais Sonier and Rita Bilello; his former wives, Hilda Hidalgo and Laura Cavalier; his son-in-law Dale Gautreaux; and his stepdaughters, Delores Jarman (Gary) and Haley Clause, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Hidalgo and Barbara Gautreaux; and his grandchildren, Toby Gautreaux (Stacie), Tracy Gautreaux (Jonathan), Elizabeth Hidalgo and Amy Hidalgo. He is also survived by 6 step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
