It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Morvant Hidalgo of Thibodaux, Louisiana, who passed away on April 24, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Roland Hidalgo; her son Byron Hidalgo; her parents, Alexander Morvant and Hazel Benoit Morvant; and her siblings, Vertis Morvant and Ret Darden.

She is survived by: her children, Aaron Hidalgo (Celeste), Lisa Folse (Todd) and Jamie Cochran (Jeff); her grandchildren, Caroline H. Martin (Chris), Cierra H. Tyndall (Greg), Lesley H. Rodrigue (Matthew), Ainsley V. Harvey (Will) and Kolbe Verdun; and her siblings, Artie Morvant, Brenda Cooper and Ronnie Morvant. She is also survived by six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Masses can be given at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in her memory.
