We bid farewell to Leroy Joseph Becnel of Thibodaux, Louisiana, born in Vacherie, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 13, 2025 at the age of 87. Leroy touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his son Timothy "Scott" Becnel; his parents, Amelus Becnel and Leone Stein Becnel; his siblings, James Becnel, Louis Becnel and Anna Lee Bourgeois; and his parents-in-law, Valley Martinez and Francis "Popon" Martinez.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth M. Becnel; his children, Duane Becnel (Stephanie), Rachael Bourgeois (Larris) and Angel Becnel (Willy); his daughter-in-law Terrie Becnel; his grandchildren, Sandy (Matt), Mabel "Evie" (Trey), Evan (Janie), Leigh (Clay), Torri (Todd), Layne, Whitney and Trey; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Canon, Sari, Emma, Abby, Anna, Parker, Paige, Clay Michael, Riley, Gabe, Henry, Elizabeth and Everleigh.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (13281 LA-644, Vacherie, LA 70090). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
