She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix Bourgeois and Flossie Bourgeois (Bergeron); and her sister Elizabeth Bourgeois (Maurice Benoit). She is survived by: her children, Maria Leftwich (Dale), Tyrone, Richard (Tammie), Koby Richard (Tesa) and Ben Benoit (Lindsey); and her siblings, Charley Bourgeois (Marlene), Bradley Bourgeois, Douglas Bourgeois and Ruth B Palmer. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
She took pride in collecting historical material about Thibodaux and donating it to local archives.
