He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Mathews, Sr. and Eula Mae Mathews; his siblings, Audrey Allen, Mary Thomas, Harry Mathews Jr., Michael Mathews Sr. Charles Mathews Sr., Ronald Mathews and Lionel Mathews; and his godmother Louise Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Mathews Jr., Kimely Johnson Nora (Bruce), Alisha Williams (Tiffany) and Rocktrica Ward; his grandchildren, DeAndre Pharagood, Rashonte Pharagood, A'Kenya Johnson, Ke'Naija Johnson, Shamira Pharagood and Rakyerin Mathews; his great grandchildren, Kasai, Nasir and Ramyiah Pharagood; his siblings, Rebecca, Eula Mathews, Ulyssess, Hurley and Gary Mathews; his niece Leslie Thomas; and his godchildren, Tracey Green Robertson and Kendrionate Johnson. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Old Fountain Baptist Church (615 LA-308, Thibodaux, LA 70301).
