He was predeceased by: his close friend Barbara James; his son Michael Paul James; his parents, Vera Williams and Charles Hawkins, Sr.; his siblings, Herbert Paul Williams, Charles Hawkins, Jr., Henrietta Hawkins and Hazel Washington; and his grandson Blake Kelly Beamon.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Terrie James; and his siblings, James Williams, Audry Williams, Mary Southall (Carl), Brenda Williams, Carolyn Williams, Betty Anderson and Shirley Hawkins. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
