He was predeceased by: his wife Beverly Duck Dayton; his parents, John Wesley and Nellie Dayton; his son John William Dayton; and his brother John Wesley Dayton.
He is survived by: his sons, Barry Dayton Jr. (Marie) of Franklin, LA and David Dayton (Kati) of Bastrop, LA; his daughter-in-law Patsy Dayton of Vidalia, LA; and his sister-in-law Sue Dayton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and sixteen great, great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Young's Funeral Home Chapel (609 EE Wallace Boulevard, Ferriday, LA 71334). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
