She was predeceased by: her parents, Doc Bates Young and Marie Porter Young; her husband Roy Rushing; her siblings, Billy Lewis Young, Roger Young, Loyd Young, Glen Young, Sue McCall and Faye Silvio; and her son-in-law Dusty Oaks.
She is survived by: her son Mickey; her daughter-in-law Brook Rushing of Tampa, FL; her pets, Buttons, Winnie and Milo; her sister-in-law Helen (Dudley Barlow) of Hurley, MS; and her daughter Mary Ann Doughty of Vidalia, LA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 9:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (100 N Hickory St, Vidalia, LA 71373). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Jack Case Scholarship Fund or the Building Fund at First Baptist Church Vidalia.
