Aleda Godeaux touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucien Godeaux and Ada Trahan. She is survived by: her children, Shirley Captain of Rosenberg, Texas, Patsy Ortego (Calvin) of Bayou Chicot, Marvin Fontenot (Janice) of Bayou Chicot, Diana Cloud (Donald) of Turkey Creek, David Fontenot (Tena) of Bayou Chicot and James Larry Fontenot of St. Landry; her husband Ement Fontenot; her children, Norman Fontenot, Barbara Vidrine and Stanley Fontenot; and her great grandchildren, Devin Rodriguez and Nicole Marie Fontenot. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 8:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the LaVille Funeral Home Chapel (2353 E Main St, Ville Platte, LA 70586). A burial was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at the St. Peter Cemetery.
