He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Powell and Inez Byrd Powell of Texarkana, Arkansas.; his sister Joyce Marionneaux (late Johnny); his in-laws, Odile Hollier, Philip Hollier (Bonnie), Donald Hollier (Wanda), Pat Deshotel, Joe Hollier (Libby) and Margaret Hollier; and his nephew Danny Marionneaux.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Hollier Powell; his children, Phyllis Carrier (Rick) of Prairie Rhonde, LA, Steve Powell (June) of Ville Platte, Missy Powell of Las Cruces, NM, Carolyn Fuselier (Kim) of Mamou, LA, Katy Delaune (Joe) of St. Francisville, LA, Chris Powell (Cheryl) of Thibodaux, LA, John Powell (Christy) of Ville Platte, LA, Jane Rodrigue (Scott) of Prairieville, LA and Robert Powell of Hammond, LA.; his grandchildren, Leigh Carrier, Monique Carrier, Cale Carrier, Amy Powell, Lindsey Powell Deshotel, Brian Fuselier, Samantha Fuselier Smith, Audrey Delaune, Chloe Powell, William Powell, Katherine Powell, Lauren Powell, Wesley Powell, Anne Marie Powell, Nicholas Powell, Caroline Powell, Sara Powell, Theresa Powell, Allison Rodrigue, Alex Rodrigue and Ava Rodrigue; and his in-laws, Rita Fontenot (late Rene), Richard Hollier (Kathy), Bonnie Hollier (late Philip), Wanda Hollier (late Donald) and Red'Deshotels (late Pat). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
