He is survived by: his daughter Rachel "Sommar" McDaniel; his grandson Zaine Cole McDaniel; and his siblings, Ellen Johnson, Wilson "Sonny" McDaniel, Lorraine Norris, Robert "Dee" McDaniel (Pam) and Loretta Ortego (Grant). He is also survived by five nieces; and ten nephews.
