He is survived by: his son Wesley Schirmer (Risa); his grandchildren, Faith Snyder (Joseph), Cheyann Fontenot (Tadyn) and Kenneth Schirmer; his great grandchildren, Alissa Snyder and Ellie Fontenot; and his nieces, Kelley Fitzgerald and Dionja Dyer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Crossroads Baptist Church (1845 LA-109, Vinton, LA 70668). A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Vinton Senior Center.
