He was predeceased by: his wife Jane Dupre Meche; his parents, Ovignac Meche and Elise Speyrer; his siblings, Felton Meche (Ena), Emeritte Doucet (Clyde) and Anna Belle Soileau (Roy); and his son-in-law Jerry Sanchon.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory Meche (Terri) of Washington, Glenn Darrell Meche (Glen Alleman) of Washington, Christine M. Guidroz (Darryl) of Washington and Marsha Meche Sanchon of Washington; his sister Anna Jane Howard (Jessie) of Washington; and his brother-in-law Ronald Dupre (Mary Jo) of Houston, TX. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (318 E Moundville St, Washington, LA 70589).
