He was predeceased by: his parents, Styron Kirby and Juanita Kirby; and his sister Fay Guillory. He is survived by: his wife Harriet Sonnier Kirby; his children, Teresa Barnhill (Joey), Eric Kirby (Lena), John Kirby, Brett Kirby (Katie), Elizabeth Huff (Gill), Harlyn Mallett (Rochelle) and Helaine Gover (Keith); his grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Willow, Cypress, Merzie, Rachel and Eann; his great grandchildren, Mallori, Shawn Jr., Ethan, Kirby and Kayden; and his brothers, Harold Kirby and Terry Kirby (Debbie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of Flowers the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Welsh.
