She was predeceased by: her husband J. L. Hattaway, Sr.; her parents, Estol Bridges and Minnie Thompson McKnight; her siblings, Erlene McKnight Wollerson, E. B. McKnight and Billy McKnight; and her sons-in-law, Burt Collins and Whitty Hood.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Collins, Jenny Hood, Kathy Lenard (Charles) and Jesse Hattaway, Jr. (Kathy); her grandchildren, Lisa Stephenson (Blain), Randy Collins (Alessandra), Dr. Bradley Hood (Jennifer), Wendy Terrell (Ben), Kendra Brasher (Kevin), Luke Lenard (Laura), Dr. Rachel Hattaway and Melissa Hattaway; and her sisters, Fay Perry and Evelyn Mays. She is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and another great great grandchild.
