He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron "Dickie" Griggs and Louise Griggs; his brothers, Jerry and Tommy; and his children, Tommy Wayne Griggs and Janice Lynn Sturgis.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy; his daughters, Valerie Walker and Billie Cannon; his son-in-law Jimmy Walker; and his siblings-in-law, Dickie and Jo Worthy. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and cousins.
