With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Harold Glenn Bates of West Monroe, Louisiana, born in Monroe, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 28, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Dreasler Bates; his parents, Oscar Bates and Celestine Bates; his daughter-in-law Margaret Wilhite; and his brother-in-law Sidney McKay.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Glenn Bates, David E. Bates (Lisa) and Mary Charlene Bates Christoff (Douglas); his grandson Andrei Christoff; his great grandchildren, Ofelia D. Christoff and Lilith A. Christoff; and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Dreasler McKay.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mulhearn Funeral Home (300 McMillan Rd, West Monroe, LA 71291). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Harold may be made to the Louisiana Batist Children's Home, 7200 Desaird Street Monroe, Louisiana.
