With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Harold Glenn Bates of West Monroe, Louisiana, born in Monroe, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 28, 2025 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Dreasler Bates; his parents, Oscar Bates and Celestine Bates; his daughter-in-law Margaret Wilhite; and his brother-in-law Sidney McKay.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Glenn Bates, David E. Bates (Lisa) and Mary Charlene Bates Christoff (Douglas); his grandson Andrei Christoff; his great grandchildren, Ofelia D. Christoff and Lilith A. Christoff; and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Dreasler McKay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Harold may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, 7200 Desaird Street Monroe, Louisiana.
