He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby Tate; his former wife Karla Ann Brady Pierce; and his brother Mark Verrett. He is survived by: his wife Myrna Pierce; his children, Tina Calhoun (Jay), Yvonne Salsbury (Travis), Keith "Beau" Pierce (Kim), Vickie Goodman (John), Stacy Morris (Jay), Tom Bont Jr. (Angela), Jim Barnes Jr., Cheryl Hogue (Kenny), Cindi Bont, Dawn Hodges and Tracie Lenard (Philip); his sisters, Lenora Davis and Donna Prudhomme; and his pet Suzie Q.. He is also survived by twenty six grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the U.S. Veterans Administration or American Cancer Society.
