He was predeceased by: his parents, James C Ates and Beulah P Walker; and his siblings, Cameron Moore, Juanita Walker, Joyce Dodd, Melba Dorothy and James Moore.
He is survived by: his wife Marguerite Ptak Ates of Vicksburg; his daughters, Christina A. Ates Hudgins (Jonathan) and Ashley N. Ates Cagle (Jacob); his stepchildren, Alicia West (Bobby), Sarah M. Moore (Dusty), Todd A. Maloy and Nataniel J. Nichols; his grandsons, Parker West and Jacob A. Moore; his siblings, JoAnne Morehead, Edmond Moore and Jerry Moore; and his schipperke Molly. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.
