With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sam C. Herren of West Monroe, Louisiana, born in Meridian, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 21, 2025 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. Herren and Marilyn Winona Johnson; his brothers, John Hundley Herren and James Herren; his daughter Jacqueline Gena Herren Hendry; his son-in-law Paul B. Miller; and his grandson Gavin Will Ticheli.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Gates Herren; his children, Anita H. Miller and Bo Herren; his grandchildren, Nicole Johnson (Jason), Matthew Hendry, Taylor Barnette (Lee), Roxanne Munoz (Josh), Samantha Damiata (Santino) and Chelsea Herren; and his siblings-in-law, Freddie Gates (Joan), Thomas Gates (Carol), Aubrey Gates (Janice) and Linda Barron (Gene). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
