She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Berkman Tate; and her siblings, Virginia Bills, Shelvie Mendoza, Yancey Floyd Carruth, Clifford Wayne Floyd, Gloria Floyd Runnels, Jerry Leon Floyd and Janice Floyd.
She is survived by: her daughter Sue Ellen Berthelot; her son-in-law Tommy; her sons, Joseph Wayne Tate (Angie) and David Edward Tate (Shana); her sister Judy Brown (Leslie); and her niece Mary "Sissy" Smith. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Wilson (6315 Bay St, Wilson, LA 70789). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
