Funeral services for Evie Fletcher, 96, of Winnsboro will be 10 am Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at First United Pentecostal Church - Winnsboro with Rev. Floyd Hawthorne and Rev. Mark Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Chase Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fletcher was born May 10, 1918 in Meadville, MS to the union of Charlie and Susie Selena Watson Ezell and passed from this life on January 10, 2015 at her residence in Winnsboro. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Winnsboro, a member of the Red Hatters, a member of the Cow Bells Ladies of the Cattleman's Association.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands George Oliver Cowart and John Earl Fletcher; brother William Truly Ezell; sister Leona Townsend; two sons: Leddrew Cowart and Emmett Cowart. Survivors include seven children: Lucion Cowart and wife Lavon of Rogers, AR, Charles Cowart of Garden Grove, CA, Allene Jimenez and husband Addie of Jacksonville, FL, Frank Cowart and wife Linda of Start, Nolan "Bo" Cowart and wife Sylvia of Baskin, Georgia McMurray of Monroe and Gwendolyn Strickland of St. Joseph; sister Ruby Wilkins of Little Rock, AR; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends.
