She was predeceased by: her husbands, Elwood Dyess and Roy Walters; her parents, Elmer Stokes and Aline Clause Stokes; and her brother Nicholas Stokes.

She is survived by: her son Charles Dyess (Michelle); her siblings, Wyman Stokes (Pat) and Claudette Powell (Charles); and her grandchild Chase Dyess.
