She was predeceased by: her husband Van Vessel Jr.; her daughter Angela Marie'Vessel; her parents, Mary Lena Prater and Leon Prater Sr.; and her siblings, Gloria Prater Vessel, Etherline Prater Williams, Eula Prater Johnson, Leon Prater, Jr., Walter Prater and Charles Prater.
She is survived by: her son Carl Vessel (Heidi) of Zachary, LA; her sister Daisy Jean Prater Russ (Sinclair Russ) of Woodville, MS; and her grandchildren, Brittany Vessel, Darius Vessel, Devante'Vessel (Rae'Gan) of Killeen, TX, Carlynn Vessel and Lauren Vessel. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
