He was predeceased by: his wives, Mary Ann Picou Carter and Nancy Shehane Carter; his parents, Jewel Carter and Griselda Carter; his siblings, Sue Picou, Arlen James Carter, Dotorthy "Dot" White and Griselda "Bootsy" Guillot; and his grandsons, Joshua LeJeune and Christopher Carmello.
He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Patrice Carter and Naomie Carter Swanson (Chris); his grandson Mitchel Carmello (Rachel); his daughter Mary Ashlen LeJeune Davis (Joey); his grandchildren, Molly Jewel, Rebekah and Cillian; and his siblings, Ruth Marceaux, Roy Carter (Pasty) and Andy Carter (Freida).
