It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Doherty of Abington, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Carol departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Carol. Though Carol may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. William Smith and Mildred Smith; her husband Edward M. Doherty; and her daughter-in-law Wendy Doherty. She is survived by: her children, Edward M. Doherty Jr. (Sandy) of South Carolina, Ann Pantano (Phil) of Rockland, Massachusetts, Maureen Chighisola (John) of Florida, Bill Doherty of New York, Bob Doherty and Augusta Johnson of Rhode Island. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
