Janet M. Smith Obituary
We announce the death of Janet M. Smith of Abington, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 83. Janet will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Shea and Joseph Shea; and her grandparents, Sophie and Charles Janigian. She is survived by: her husband Donald Smith of Quincy; her mother-in-law Bessie Mae Smith; her daughter Cherylann Lee Smith (Kyle Henry Iwanicki); her pet Turbo Shot Smith; her sister Lorraine Frances Innes (William Alexander Innes); her nieces, Cassandra Michelle Innes and Stacey Lorraine Athanassiou (George Karl Athanasiou); her great-nieces, Taylor Nicole Athanasiou and Paige Innes Athanasiou; Robert "Bob" Brennan, Bessie Mae Smith and Andrew Holmes. She is also survived by two great-great-nephews; and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Quealy Funeral Home (116 Adams St, Abington, MA 02351). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Wollaston Cemetery (20 Sea St, Quincy, MA 02169).
