“Dear eve, i look forward to meeting you. Virginia often spoke of you. I am a friend and neighbor in rockport. I moved here 8 years ago and she was one of the first people i met-- down at old garden beach, when i was being a coward about swimming in the cold water and virginia was just coming out after a swim and remarking on how wonderful it was. She was so welcoming and always friendly and cheerful-- old sloop fair, beach, garden club. I shall miss her. Affectionately, cynthia johnson”
