He is survived by: his wife Gloria Pinto Afonso (DaCruz) of Acushnet; his children, Steven J. Afonso (Elizabette) of Rochester, Gloriane Afonso-Fede, MD (Frank P. Fede, Jr.) of Barrington, RI and Marie A. Brengle (Daniel) of Dartmouth; his grandchildren, Elexus Afonso, PharmD, Bryce Afonso, Frank Fede III, Matthew Fede and Anthony Fede (Lucia Brengle); and his siblings, Jose Afonso of New Bedford, Antonio Afonso of Mourilhe, João Afonso of Mourilhe, Manuel Afonso of Mourilhe, Fatima Afonso Pires of Mourilhe and Rosinha Afonso Barros of Mourilhe. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
