Gloria P. Afonso Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 7, 2025, at the age of 85, Gloria P. Afonso of Acushnet, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Domingos Leal Afonso; her parents, João Gonçalves DaCruz and Maria DaCruz (Pinto); and her brothers, Inocencio Da Cruz and Antonio Da Cruz.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Afonso (Elizabette Medeiros-Afonso) of Rochester, Dr. Gloriane Afonso-Fede (Frank) of Barrington, R. I. and Marie Brengle (Daniel Brengle) of Dartmouth; her grandchildren, Elexus Afonso, Bryce Afonso, Frank Fede III, Matthew Fede, Anthony Fede and Lucia Brengle; her siblings, José Pinto Cruz (Amelia) of New Bedford and Maria P. Da Cruz (João) of Milford, MA; and her sisters-in-law, Helena Da Cruz of Acushnet and Bertha Da Cruz of Punta Gorda. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home & Cremation (129 Allen St, New Bedford, MA 02740). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church (136 Earle St, New Bedford, MA 02746).
