He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen DeTerra (Sheehan) and Thomas DeTerra; his wife Blanche; and his brothers, Thomas DeTerra and John DeTerra.
He is survived by: his children, Robert A. DeTerra, Jr. (Katharine) of Acushnet, Randall K. DeTerra (Donna) of Acushnet and Tarley A. Sumner; his son-in-law Brian of Acushnet; his daughter Kathy L. Hebert (Matthew) of Fairhaven; and his brother Kenneth DeTerra (Linda) of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
