Barbara Capponcelli Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Capponcelli of Agawam, Massachusetts, born in Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 12, 2025 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Barbara Capponcelli to pay them a last tribute.
Though Barbara may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Barbara touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick L. Skerry and Stella D. Skerry (Morawski); her husband Donald Capponcelli; and her brother Frederick L. Skerry, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Donald C. Jr. (Sandra Capponcelli), Peter L. (Joan Capponcelli), Barry M. (Tina Capponcelli) and Bruce A. (Kerry Capponcelli); and her sisters, Joyce Bergstrom of Belchertown and Priscilla Skerry of Portland, ME. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Agawam Curran Jones Funeral Home (745 Cooper St, Agawam, MA 01001). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church - Feeding Hills (1065 Springfield St, Feeding Hills, MA 01030).
