It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Bitgood of Agawam, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Michael Bitgood to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Madeline Bitgood (Ploof); his son John Paul Bitgood; and his brother Brian Bitgood. He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara J. Bitgood of Auburn and Michelle L. Hatfield of Clayton, MI; his daughter-in-law Nely Orta of Agawam; his siblings, James Bitgood of Wisconsin, Steven Bitgood of Alabama, Thomas Bitgood of Virginia, Gail Longey of Feeding Hills, Jane Barrientos of West Springfield and Tracey Marshall of West Springfield; and his grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, Xavier, Aspen and Hunter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Agawam Curran Jones Funeral Home (745 Cooper St, Agawam, MA 01001).
